kaylee keeps us laughing
I broke my wrist a week ago, and typing is slow. For the whole story, see here.
Fortunately kaylee wasn't involved in my tumble. j. was holding the leash, so she didn't tangle with me or have a chance to run away.
While i was recovering, I spent a lot of time in my chair, it has arms the right height to prop up my injured wrist.
I didn't notice at first, but kaylee was taking care of me in her own way. She gradually accumulated her favorite blankets, balls, bones and stuffies, and made a mound in front of my chair. She spent her day time hours resting on this pile of toys, and kept her eye on me. If i needed a stuffie to snuggle or a bone to chew, she had it all at the ready.
Now i'm feeling better, and kaylee is delighted to have both humans walking again. j. has to tie my walking shoes, and kaylee helps as best she can. She pushes between us and licks j's face while he's kneeling down. She kisses and nibbles his ears, sniffs my shoes, and “chuffs” the whole time. I start giggling, j starts laughing, and kaylee gets more excited. It's special to start a walk with such enthusiasm, and i'm sure the love and laughter we share is good medicine for broken bones.
