Kaylee gets a Hairecut

Kaylee has been looking a little fluffy these days, but after the last grooming at the vet's, we were determined to do it ourselves.
We bought the clippers last month, and J. finished making a grooming table this afternoon. We knew it was time to put our plan into action.

First came the combing and a bath. Here she is, all happy and unsuspecting. Kaylee figured the bath was the only ordeal she faced.
We had printed directions from the internet, and studied them carefully. We could delay no longer, time to get Kaylee to the basement.
J. manned the clippers, I backed him up with reading directions and handling the scissors.
Kaylee was a rock on the table, never flinching or jerking around. At one point I offered her a dog treat, and she gave me a disdainful look. "I don't need no stinkin' dog treat, I'm just fine."

Here's Kaylee, all clipped and beautiful! You notice this is not a close up shot, there's plenty of room for improvement. But for a first effort, we're pretty pleased. We need to get some scissors to trim the hair between her pads, and I'm going to read those directions a bit closer. J. and I chose to err on the side of caution, and we didn't get real close around her face and neck. We'll do better next time, and of course, it all grows out in the end, anyway!
